We can’t recommend Steve Perkins highly enough! He radiates patience, kindness and fun. Steve makes sure to make connections with each student right at the start of their lessons. He builds a trusting and fun relationship, and adapts his lessons to meet the needs of each individual student. His communication with both parents and students is great. He really listens to his clients and does everything he can to fulfill their goals. I would highly recommend Steve to anyone looking for a wonderful instructor for themselves or their child. My daughter has been taking piano lessons with Steve for at least a year and half. Steve is very patient, kind, and connects with his students really well. My daughter can be a handful at times (pre-teen w/ADHD) and Steve has always very smoothly managed to work with her and redirect her energy towards a lesson. He can read her abilities and adapts the lessons, sometimes on the spot, so that they work well for her. Steve utilizes different tools and strategies to engage the students in different ways. They have used rhythm sticks, iPad apps, habit-tracking apps, music games, and many more. My daughter has never once complained about going to lessons with Steve (she just complains about practicing), and she has learned so much and so quickly! I've seen the way Steve interacts with some other students and there always seems to be a connection made. I truly believe he is one of those gifted instructors who can teach any student, and will be an instructor that student will remember.
I can’t thank Steve enough for being so kind and patient with my son! He is younger than most of his students and makes lessons fun to keep his attention. He also makes adjustments to his lessons to help my son understand and learn at his own pace. Thank you Steve!
I've worked with Steve for over a year and cannot say enough good things about the experience. He's given me the autonomy to drive the direction of the lessons, pursuing the areas that most interest me. He always comes prepared, showing that he's thought about new challenges for me and ways for me to improve. Steve's entirely supportive and not overbearing, encouraging me and challenging me with new exercises, but he's reasonable! He knows that life is busy so I never feel embarrassed if I'm not able to practice as much as I'd like, or not picking things up quickly. He's a great teacher and keeps the lessons extremely fun. I would recommend lessons with Steve to anyone.
